Will it work on wooden floors?   (11 Answers)

My house is covered in both carpet and wood so I need to know if it works well on both or it works only on carpets. And if there is any difficult switching functions.

My house is mostly wood floors and it does a great job on them. What carpet I do have is real short and it does okay on that. I bought it mainly for the wood. Switching is easy.

        Answer

It's got a little hand-held beater-bar attachment, but it's not great. There's another little tool it comes with that would probably work better, but I just pick the whole vacuum up and move it stair to stair. Seems to work well, but the thing is kind of heavy.

Haven't had to change it..the only thing it needs is a cleaning of filter with the soap and water.very happy with purchase. I also own a Kirby and dyson.so I'd say this comes as close to those a possible for less than half the cost

Hi dh, The brushroll does not shut off with this model. We have the WindTunnel 3 Pro Pet, which has the cord rewind feature and the brushroll shut off. Check it out here: http://bit.ly/1I2hL6C. Hope this helps! -- John, Hoover Customer Care

              Answer

I was in carpet sales, installation & repair for over ten years. Use windex let sit for 10 minutes. Blot from outside to inside is spot with white towel or paper towel. Repeat if necessary. There is also a product Called Lloyd's cleaner in a spray bottle & is clear. It will even get out lipstick, grape juice, etc. Hope this helps!

I see you previously answered question that the Hoover UH70817 will pick up cat litter, but I'm concerned bcs it appears that vacuuming cat litter may have "killed" my last 2 vacuums. Won't it harm the machine?   (4 Answers)

                Answer

Hi CarolineAngel! Cat litter shouldn't harm the machine. However, your Hoover will require more maintenance to keep it operating properly. We recommend rinsing the primary foam filter every 2-4 uses and replacing the filters every 3-6 months depending on usage. Hi Jan! To empty the dirt cup simply press the grey release button at the top of the dirt cup handle and pivot the cup out. Once removed, push the dirt cup door release lever to open the dirt cup door. That should do it! Let us know if you still need us! ~Kenya, Hoover Customer Care

                Answer

Works very well on plush carpeting in my experience. may have to adjust the height to account for the carpeting, depending on how plush it is. Would probably not recommend using it on anything that would get caught in the vacuum though.

If using at lowest setting it is a little difficult to push but rising to higher level it works well and has good suction..
