Height adjustment is typically the feature you want to look for when considering soft carpeting so the vacuum can move freely over it. Sometimes suction control features still can't mitigate their closeness by limiting suction alone, and that added space with height adjustment makes a lot of difference by keeping the brush roll and nozzle base off your carpet.
