How do you connect it to switch null

They have to be attached to the tablet- no wireless play.

Take off the Nintendo joy cons and slide these in

It only works when connected to the switch. Slide it in/on in place of the joycons. The hori split pad does not wake up the switch. You have to wake it up with the power button on the top of the switch. Should work fine after that.

Just slide them like you slide the joy cons. :)

It just physically slides on, just like the Joy Con controllers. That’s it, it’s plug and play. No software to download or Bluetooth pairing, it’s just a physical connection.
