Yes. You have to kick off like a regular scooter to make it work anyway.

Don’t buy one of these scooters. Got one scooter and the handle broke within a week. Replacement scooter failed right out of the box with overheating and the “throttle” would stick wide open. Returned second scooter and got my money back. It’s a good design but poorly executed. The dude at BB said he had been getting alot of them returned. You can ride it like a regular scooter, but if you’re spending $300 you shouldn’t have to.
