• A:Answer To get the laptop thin, the RAM is "surface mounted", meaning it's soldered directly to the motherboard and is not upgradeable.

• A:Answer 4500u and 4700u are the same generation. 4500u is a 6 core/6 thread and 4700u is 8 core/8 thread. The 4600u and 4800u are 6core/12thread and 8core/16thread respectively. I have yet to see the superior 4800u or 4600u in any american laptops as of yet, but still looking.
