Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This machine needs 8 GB minimum because 2 GB is taken by the graphics processor. You can upgrade the ram yourself i you know what you are doing. (I don't know what that means for the warranty) There are six screws to remove the back. Two are visible near the edge; four are under the long rubber pads. One you remove those screws, the back can be removed easily. There are two memory slots. One is occupied by a 4G sim. In the other one you can insert an 8G sim (which costs about $36 from Crucial), giving you 12 GB (of which 10 is available to the system). If you want to maximimize the memory, you would buy 2 8 GB sims for the 2 slots and have 16. I don't know if this machine will support 32G.
