Hello and thank you for asking. The HP 15-fd0107dx laptop will connect to Wi-Fi networks on the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6 GHz bands (Wi-Fi 6E). Please note 5 GHz Wi-Fi is NOT the same as 5G (5th Gen) cellular networks. The HP 15-fd0107dx laptop does not support connecting to cellular networks.

The first is the new (and most recent) standard for cellphones (and similar) wireless connectivity. Typically, your device will need a SIM (not to be confused with SD) card, tied to a wireless provider, such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, or one of the Mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and some kind of plan (pay-as-you-go and monthly plans are the usual kind). Service is usually widespread (e.g., the nation) and speed varies depending on distance from towers, interference from buildings, etc. (think AM radio). The "G" stands for "generation." WiFi 5 is a totally different kind of service: it is usually created for a small area, such as a home or restaurant, but can be as much as a floor, an entire, building, or even a park, using a router or one or more access points, connected to one or more modems. This/these are in turn connected to an ISP (internet Service Provide). The ISP provides initial connectivity. The router/access points act as an intermediary allowing the original connection to be dispersed to several (wired) connections as well as multiple wireless ones. This router can send out wireless signals in a number of different standards, one of which could be WiFi 5 (also known as IEEE 802.11ac). Although that is a bit old, as we are presently up to WiFi 8 (IEEE 802.11bn), many people still use it, as they might not need the faster, newer, and more expensive standard. So your home is probably using WiFi 5, but if you are actually using 5G, you need a computer that can use THAT standard, or you need a router can translate the 5G service into a WiFi one.
