• yes, there is an extra RAM slot if you open up the bottom case. Contrary to HP, I saw it with my own eyes and shoved another RAM bar in there. go to the HP website and pull the manual, the disassembly process is simple but you must follow the steps carefully..

• Maybe if you have the skills,no slot so you gotta remove the bottom and who knows what else.

• no accessible panel in the back, I read that you can have it done though, $$. but if it were me, I'd keep looking. If you use it for real basic stuff 4 is prob ok.
