Depending on from where you download and the format, I don't see that anyone should have any problems doing this though some music dowload sites and formats-Apple iTunes and such come to mind-you may need their download software or membership to do so. Also if you want to download from YouTube, Vevo, and such you may need that type software also, I use YouTube downloader myself but there are several other similar music/video downloaders out there that work as well. Also if you do torrent type downloads most come in the most used and most popular formats-avi, mpg, mp4, wmv, etc,-and these play directly on your windows provided music/video software as included in your windows operating system package.
