Do a 'How to' search on YouTube and you'll fing several videos on this subject, but when you watch one you'll be disappointed to discover as I did that you practically have to disassemble the entire computer on this model-remove keyboard, remove hard drive, etc.-to get to the Ram slots. Very poor design on this model and very poor decision by HP not to have loaded this machine w/8gb from the initial assembly especially given that the additional 4gb could have been added for less than $20. Again, bad design and bad decision by HP in my opinion. Good luck find a machine with a better design and more Ram if you haven't yet purchased a machine and your going to want more Ram down the road.
