Laptops are not meant to be continually on, unlike Desktops. It could be the processor was overheated and shut down to save itself. Windows 10 has programs that will allow this to occur if your system overheats. Try reading up on Windows 10 settings, you will be amazed at all the different settings it has for Laptops.
