- Answer Switching out of S mode in Windows 10 On your PC running Windows 10 in S mode, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation. In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store. ... On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. Note, this is not reversible and you will lose some protections, however it's a risk I was willing to take to have full use of Windows.

AC Smart pin and 1 ea. Headphone/microphone combo. This notebook does not have a built in DVD drive. You can use an external USB DVD drive with it. Yes, the notebook has a Multi-format SD media card reader. Also, you can add MS Office for students.

- Answer As I would say to most people that ask about a computer for certain uses, this laptop seems to have the power to perform most task efficiently. You may need additional storage depending on how much data you will be saving. As far as a budget laptop goes this HP is very good.

QuestionSo I have this computer, and I'm wanting to run two monitors, is their a docking station that will work? One answer I found says the USB ports in this computer are data only and not video, but answers to other questions contradicted that.

- Answer Hi. If you wanted to run 2 external monitors on this laptop having essentially 3 monitors, an easy way to do this would be use use the HDMI port and an HDMI splitter. You can use Windows to manage the 3 monitors setting them a 1, 2, and 3 (primary, secondary, and tertiary) and then manage which each one does (mirror or extend). - Answer The AMD Ryzen 5 is a great processor for gaming. Unfortunately, without dedicated graphics support, this laptop will be somewhat limited in the games that it will play well. (Look for a gaming model with a dedicated GPU for power play sessions!)

- Answer The screen is crystal clear and the touch screen is great. As for switching out of S mode. I just googled how to do it and followed what was said. It was very simple and quick.

- Answer If your printer connects via USB, Bluetooth, Wifi, or USB-C then you're good to go. Not sure what a fax machine is. . . but if it connects via one of those connections then it'll probably be good too. There's also HDMI and a Card Reader. There are two USB ports, and one each of the others.

QuestionI really like this machine so far, but have had for about 2 weeks and the machine has shut down twice now due to a "Thermal Shutdown"/overheating......I have it on a cooling pad too.... was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what resolution

- Answer We are having the same issue! No resolution as I anticipate that they didn’t put enough paste on the cpu. In addition we are only seeming about 3 hours of battery life maximum. Often well under that. This is my wife’s machine and all she uses it for is browsing the web and word processing. This is definitely going back to the store after seeing your question. I hope my comments help you in your decision.

- Answer S mode is mainly for protecting the user and the laptop from downloading random app/ programs. I took mine out of S mode and it’s still lightening fast. It slows the processing power down a tiny bit (so it says) but it’s still lightening fast.
