Is the Solid State Drive better and why? null

Because it has no moving parts unlike a mechanical drive. Data can run faster on a solid state drive, whereas a spindle on a mechanical drive has to take a bit of time to retrieve data. That is as simple as I can explain it, but this has a 256 GB SSD, that is GREAT!

Yes. Makes for a super fast boot up, and file access. It is the best upgrade one can make to a PC before upgrading the ram.
