Hi Tom, thank you for the question. The wireless interface is Realtek RTL8821CE-M 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (1x1) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2. MU-MIMO is supported; Miracast compatible.

Definitely try Linux Mint - but be aware that since it doesn't come with the newest kernel, there's a chance the Realtek card isn't supported out of the box. Your best bet would be to get a usb wifi adapter (or ethernet adapter if you have wired internet) to get internet access, and then install a newer kernell using UKUU. If you're not tied to Mint (it is a great distro!), you might want to try something that comes with a newer kernel like Fedora or Manjaro.
