I think I understand what's happening. Because this computer is running Windows in "S Mode" it can only download and run apps that are in the Windows Store, and that's why it's asking you to purchase the software. However, it's quite easy to take the computer out of S Mode, which should allow you to download and install the software from the link that the college gave you. To switch the computer to Windows 11 Home, just follow the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/switching-out-of-s-mode-in-windows-4f56d9be-99ec-6983-119f-031bfb28a307#WindowsVersion=Windows_11

Office 365 is often installed in new computers, usable for a free 30-day introductory period. 2. If not installed, or if you receive a message to purchase it, you just have to activate the license.
