You will need to remove the S-Mode feature from the system before attempting to install any non Microsft apps. I have removed S-Mode from mine and have successfully installed multiple non Micosoft apps to include Chrome and Firefox. Be aware that this system only has a 250 GB NVME drive. So space is limited. There is no hardware internally that will allow you to upgrade with a standard or SSD harddrive. It cost me roughly $200 to upgrade the NVME to 1 TB and the NVME clone device to copy all the files over.

The "S Mode" feature of this laptop's operating system prevents downloads from outside the Microsoft Store for your safety and security. However, you can easily (but permanently) switch out of S Mode to download apps from any site. Please keep in mind that the regular version of Windows will utilize more system memory
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Windows 11 currently does not allow the installation of any products other than those approved by Microsoft and listed in the app store. Firefox is not allowed; I don't know for sure about Chrome. Microsoft Edge is the only browser allowed. It comes with lots and lots and lots of ads. Amazon's Kindle for PC app is not allowed. Even Amazon admitted to me that you can't use Amazon K4PC on WIN 11. All open-source software is verboten. Use Microsoft's photo software or else; PhotoShop is not in their app store. There is a work-around but it involves disabling a main portion of the WIN 11 software and thus taking unspecified risks. I recommend buying something with up-gradable WIN 10 and hoping someone fixes this mess before Microsoft kisses WIN 10 good-bye.

You just have to exit S Mode (an easy procedure) in order to use non-Microsoft software like Firevox and Chrome. As for the memory card, as long as it is compatible with SD slots and your software, you won't have any problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will have to exit S mode to add Chrome and any other software not available in the Microsoft Store. The PC has a memory slot and USB ports, so anything compatible will be fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I see that Mozilla had a release update on 11/9/21 that indicates the Firefox addition to the Microsoft App store - so this seems like good news. Do the HP experts find that this didn't work well or untrue?
