What are textured linear gradient grooves null

They are horizontal ridges on the back

the laptop has horizontal ridges on the whole top cover.

It's the texture on the surface of the outer case. In other words, it is not smooth like most laptops but instead has straight (linear) grooves in the surface. This makes the laptop easier to hold and less likely to slip out of your hands but those grooves may make it more difficult to clean the surface.
