“Has anyone successfully upgraded the memory? The problem I'm having is how in the world do you access the empty memory slot. Taking off the five screws on the back of the laptop doesn't seem to accomplish much.”

yes added 32 GB of RAM and new 2 tb ssd. takes about 10 minutes to take down and install.
