• there are no speakers built in to this monitor. if you want sound, I suggest you purchase some computer speakers separately. they do not have to be high dollar ones either to get a good quality sound.

• Yes, the display is far too thin for quality sound. You would use any 3.5mm or USB connected speakers to your computer.

• I do not see any speakers in these monitors although there might have been room for them. The bottom of the monitor is not completely flat, one side had control buttons on it (the right side from the front persepective).
