Yes. All monitors with the necessary video input will work as a display output for Macs.

Mac laptop has dvi out and I used a dvi to hdmi converted to connect the monitor on hdmi port. iMac has mini-dvi and i used an adapter to use the hdmi port on the monitor. mac detected it with no issues.
