“I just bought this monitor to go with my 2016 MacBook Pro but can't get it to connect. I've selected HDMI but won't connect through my Apple adapter. Anyone have any luck with this?”

Are you using an HDMI to HDMI cable? Try using a display port to mini display port cable. That should work.

I guess you have been using the three buttons on the back at the right-hand side above the power switch? I takes a little while to nut out how they work. Simple start: press the top button, then press it again. Then press the bottom button to move the cursor down to to 'Input Control' and then press the top button (tick or check mark). Then move the cursor to the HDMI that has the cable plugged in, and press the top button again to select the cable connection. I know nothing of Apple computers.
