“Where are the inputs located in comparison to the vesa holes for mounting? I see it says vesa compatible, however some monitors say this while having their inputs too close to where the screws are (gets blocked by mounting plate).”

the connect are at the undersurface of back, away from the vesa holes. the cables will be straight down not point to the back of monitor.

The instructions on how to remove the stand and attach the monitor to a mounting device are on pages 7-9 of the user guide.
