• A:Answer If you are talking about "HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One series" printer, yes both standard 901 and 901XL will fit into your printer. If you have HP ENVY 4500 printer, you need 61 series ink.

Q: QuestionWhat is the approximate shelf-life of these ink cartridges?If I buy several of them while they are on sale, how long will they last? 6 months? 1 year? Thanks!

• A:Answer A print cartridge can be installed in a printer any time during its 18 month shelf life. If it is installed after 18 months accumulated pigments, congealing, and/or hardening ink may adversely affect product performance. TIJ 2.5 ink products have a maximum expected life of 24 months. This is calculated as follows: 18 months shelf life + 6 months (installed in the printer) = maximum expected life. • A:Answer This ink cartridge will print approximately 700 pages. Page yields are based on 5% page coverage on 8.5" x 11" paper (a normal document).

Q: QuestionIs a firmware update needed to use the 901xl in the Envy 4500It was stated on Grainger and this forum (by HP) that the 901 XL would work in place of the 61...well, not in mine. What's the trick?
