Q: QuestionWhat is the differenceFrom the time I bought my HP office jet 7210, in 2005, I have been using the part # of the ink cartridges that came with it HP 96 and HP 97. Now I find that when I use the Best Buy Prouct find it service, based upon the brand, type and model, the cartridges are now HP 94 and Hp 95. Is HP now doing away with older parts (ink cartridges) and using those that may fit or are compatible. Do they really fit and work as they should? or is this another marketing ploy by HP to make us, the owners of older models, to buy newer equipment?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I have been using the HP 94 & 95 cartridges for years. Until recently, never had any problem with them. Have had two 95 cartridges in the last year that became defective. I thought the 96 and 97 were the same, just different sizes. Not sure about that. I suppose HP discontinued them just to eliminate duplicate or similar SKU's in their system for inventory simplification purposes.
