I have been using the HP 94 & 95 cartridges for years. Until recently, never had any problem with them. Have had two 95 cartridges in the last year that became defective. I thought the 96 and 97 were the same, just different sizes. Not sure about that. I suppose HP discontinued them just to eliminate duplicate or similar SKU's in their system for inventory simplification purposes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the HP Office Jet 7210 as well, also about as old as yours. The ink refills HP 94 (b/w) and HP 95 (color) are smaller versions of HP 96 and HP 97. All four ink products have been available for many years and are still available, there is no marketing ploy by HP. I have used both sizes depending on my anticipated volume of printing and they all work equally well - the difference is just the volume of ink/size of cartridge. You can verify on HP's website. Best Buy has the best prices on these ink products. Just go to the search icon and type in the HP 96 or HP 97 and you will see your preferred product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 96 and 97 are high capacity versions of the 94 and 95. I usually try to find the high capacity ones, but they seem to be harder and harder to find. The 94 and 95 should work just fine. They do in my machine, which is much older than yours.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The HP Officejet 7210 All-In-One Printer was designed to be compatible with the HP 94 (C8765W) and HP 96 (C8767W) Black ink cartridges as well as the HP 95 (C8766W) and HP 97 (C9363W) Tri-color ink cartridges. This gives the consumer more options for purchasing ink cartridges. I apologize for any confusion.
