Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried the plan but found that I was printing over my limit and my ink was not arriving in time. I cancelled and it has been much cheaper for me to buy the cartridges as needed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know all the math on it but I believe that the Instant Ink Plan cartridges have more ink than even the XL cartridges provide. But if one looks at $/page, the $2.99 plan gives $0.0598/page while the $9.99 plan gives $0.0333/page. If one actually gets 2300 pages from a $38 XL cartridge, that would yield $0.0165/page. Similarly, 1000 pages from a $27 regular cartridge gives $0.027/page. I think where it really matters is with what you are printing. If I am only printing widely spaced text with ink saving draft mode, I may get that many pages from the cartridge. But, if I'm printing a lot of heavy duty graphics or photos with lots of black or color space that sucks up a ton of ink per page, I will get less pages out of the cartridge. This may be where the HP Instant Ink plans shine. How to tell is to print out the ink report from the printer as soon as one of your cartridges runs out of ink. Then you can see how many pages you got from that particular cartridge. The black cartridge that came with my 8610 printer got a little less than 1000 pages but I can't be sure how many because I didn't print the report when it ran out. My Cyan, Magenta and Yellow cartridges have all gone almost 1200 pages (and are reading "low") but that means that I have not been printing much color. Again, whether the plans are worth it depends on how much you are using ink per page. Photos use more ink than text and the plans probably surpass the normal purchasing if you do a lot of ink intensive photo or graphics printing. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have not subscribed to the HP ink program based on my personal usage. The printer gives me the exact page count and dates I changed each cartridge. I watch for sales and discounts on the ink and keep sealed spare set in plastic zip bags. Some people prefer the convenience of HP tracking and them auto-sending ink. Have you priced HP ink? The monthly fee covers the black and 3 color cartridges. It is nowhere near a 50% savings but the 9.99 plan comes close to regular discount prices. I'm sure they, like many product manufacturers, imply a 50% savings but off the regular retail price. Most of us rarely pay manufacturer suggested retail prices. Also of note, per the plan, a page is one side. I had hoped to get a better deal using double sided printing but sadly no. The plan might be a great deal for people that print loads of pictures because a page is a page, no matter the quality level of the print, pictures suck those cartridges dry fast. :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best Buy sold us the instant ink plan when we purchased our printer but when we tried to enroll HP advised us the printer we purchased was not eligible for this program. It is only available for certain lower end models, a fact our sales associate apparently was not aware of - go figure. Check it out before you purchase.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a small business. Our technicians service lawns daily so I print at least 12,000 legal size invoices and a large number of printed reports. Buying the ink is less expensive, especially since I buy ahead when stores like Best Buy, Sams or Staples have discounts on the HP 950 XL ink
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on how much you print. I found that because I print a lot for school it is better savings to use the plan. I spend the same amount or more on ink a year. I haven't switched over yet but I'm really concider ink it. Think about how often you replace your ink and how much it cost each time. ($30 x 4 times=$120) in one year. If you don't really print a whole lot then it's not worth it.
