That it does. Mind you, I am not technically inclined, but getting it started was a breeze (luckily, I was able to use the same cable for my previous HP printer, D1600 or the sort, that met its maker after 7 or 8 years). I am highly satisfied, having purchased it for similar reasons; I have a Brother MFC that I use for the "heavy" work. Hope this helps.

You either have to buy a USB cable or, as I did, use the USB cable from my old HP Deskjet printer which is not compatible with Windows 10. Having said that, the Deskjet 1112 is a dandy little printer and I like it.
