“Does this printer quit working if you don't buy the instant ink subscription? The last two Hps I bought quit after I replaced cartridges with store bought ones.”

You are not obligated to join the HP Instant Ink service, where you pay a monthly plan to print. You can still buy ink cartridges. If you need further assistance, visit https://support.hp.com
