“HP Print smart app needs an online account, does it mean all my print and scan goes through the HP Cloud? I am not sure how safe it is. Is there a way I can scan and print without going through the cloud?”

We got this in November 2020 to WFH... we tried the HP Cloud but it was very slow. So we used a printer input cord (from an old printer) to USB for a direct connect and it works without the HP Cloud and prints on demand instead of waiting for the WiFi connect. It works great. (I already had the cord, but it's similar to the one in the recommended product photo.)
