Inkjet printers feature a printing technology that uses extremely fine nozzles on a printhead to spray ink on paper. Using a resistor to conduct the heat, an electric current is applied to the resistor to heat the ink, causing a vapor bubble to form. Once the bubble grows to its maximum size, the bubble collapses and ink is sprayed on the page to form text and graphics. After the ink drop leaves the nozzle, more ink is drawn from the ink reservoir to refill the nozzle. This process can occur several thousand times per second for each nozzle. InkJet Technology uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK) inks to form colors.
