As you mention, it's not possible with this BIOS --and there are no newer BIOS available on HP's support website. I'm really disappointed because of this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From reviews that I have seen on this machine, you do not need to go into the BIOS to allocate more. Windows takes care of it from what I am seeing. and the review I have seen has 16gb installed and Doom Eternal runs on it and it is using up 8gb of that ram. You should be fine.I am getting this machine and will be upgrading the ram to 32 myself so that I can max it out for both system and vram.

You are using system Ram, whether it is allocated on the Bios or as overflow into the system memory pool through Windows/driver level doesn’t matter, you get the same performance. I put 32 GB in my system and Windows will give it up to 16GB in my case. Games that use over 512MB run fine.
