Best Buy tech guy said there is a bay to install a CD/DVD drive, but it has to be an HP product designed for this computer, and I have to get that drive it elsewhere, as Best Buy does not handle the item. Replies here from HP say that no such drive is available. But why have an empty bay, if no drive will be available?

It's like they are designing backwards. Maybe I'll have a tech I know install a SSD and new sound card in my old Lenovo. $500 for one with less features than my Lenovo? No, thanks.
