You would have to buy a stand-alone CD or Blu Ray player that connects to the laptop. There is no built-in CD player in this model.

You can purchase an external one that plugs into a USB drive, that's what I did and it works fine. I assume they are doing this for cost reasons, much like the fact that many new cars no longer come with a CD player.
