Is the body aluminum & not plastic? null

Yes it has an aluminum body with a small chrome plastic strip at the base of the display.

the top seems to be aluminum if the rest is in fact plastic, it sure seems sturdy and very durable

VERY thin aluminum - might as well be plastic

Yes this laptop has an aluminum body all the way around. There is nothing that screams cheap plastic, making this unit worth the money.
