• Yes, this has a backlit keyboard, which was one of my big reasons for picking this model. When it arrives, it is not backlit, but there is a setting to choose. Then it stays backlit until you shut it off, not just at night.

• The ports are type C, and not Thunderbolt, but the keyboard does have a backlight.
