This laptop does have 5 ports minimum; it does not however have the CD player. That is the one thing it lacks built in. You can plug in an external DVD drive, a mouse, and a cooling fan, but you won't be able to use all three of those at the same time because they take USB-A, and this device only has two of them (USB-A). You do have a mic/headphone port to hook up your external speakers, however it has very loud internal speakers so you may not need the external ones.

This laptop comes with the following ports: 2 Thunderbolt™ 4 with USB Type-C® 40Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB Type-A 10Gbps signaling rate (HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB Type-A 10Gbps signaling rate; 1 HDMI 2.1; 1 headphone/microphone combo. It does not come with a CD player/recorder optical drive - however, you can get an external USB optical drive with Best Buy! It can accept a USB Type-A mouse and a cooling fan that uses USB Type-A or Type-C. The speakers would need to use HDMI, USB Type-C, or the audio jack.
