A dock is a dock from what I know. There is no reason a dock going through USB-C wouldn't work. Just use the bottom USB-C slot since the top one is for charging the laptop (left side has 2 usb-c slots, 1 full size HDMI, 1 USB A slot; and right side only has 1 USB A slot).
