• I would assume so, when I first inserted the cartridges in the printer it asked to do an alignment page. It is not required, but I would recommend doing so.

• Yes, each time you install new cartridges you will have to align the cartridges from the printer software. If you remove and reinstall the same cartridges you do not have to align the cartridges.
