QuestionIf color cartridge runs out will it allow you to print in just black?Some printers will not allow you to print in just black (or grayscale) when the color ink cartridge runs out. It will force you to replace to color ink cartridge before it will print anything. Does this printer allow you to print in just black (or grayscale) if the color ink cartridge runs out?

- Answer You do not need to replace the cartridges until print quality becomes unacceptable. If one ink cartridge is causing problems or is low, you can remove it and use the single-cartridge mode to operate the HP ENVY 5660 series with only one cartridge.

- Answer Intermittently. If you reset your computer, router, and printer every time you want to print. It will occasionally print the document or photo. If you have an Apple product, I would highly recommend avoiding this printer. I have wasted HOURS trying to get it to print from my Mac or iPhone.

- Answer Unlikely. I bought this printer several months ago. Supposedly, it will print from an iPhone. And it will print from my iPhone, if I reset the printer, my laptop, my router and my iPhone every single time I want to print something. Its an infuriating process so if you want a printer that will easily print from your iPhone or Mac, I would buy something else instead.

- Answer No fax, but you can scan & email. There are some that have fax in order to fax it needs to be hooked up to a separate phone line

- Answer Yes. On the front left side of the printer there is a circular door. Press the right edge of the door and the door swings open to reveal the SD slot.

- Answer There are two lids on the printer. One for the scanner and one that lifts the scanning glass to reveal a cavity where the print cartridges are installed. There are tabs on the sides of the printer for the second lid. Remove the protective anti-static tape from the printer cartridges and insert them with the electrodes towards the back of the printer. They should go in smoothly and seat into the printer when fully inserted. Hard to describe without pictures. Maybe check HP support website or YouTube for more info.

- Answer It was pretty much identical to a Kodak printer I was using. The are pretty natural looking compared to most printers, but are not quite exact. Honestly, I haven't seen any consumer entry level printer that is perfect. I am very happy with the way my photos print with this printer.

- Answer Depending on what size the photo is you can put more than one on the scanner glass but they will be put into one file on the PC and not separate.
