During the initial set up, it gives you the option to set up using USB cable, or wireless. I set up on my "server" by connecting the USB cable to said "server," but my other laptops, I installed with the disk, and selected wireless set up. THe only quirk is that you may have to restart your wireless devices to get the ball a rolling. Also, if you are replacing a wireless printer, make sure you delete the old printer, and set the ENVY 7640 to default printer. If you are using it on a wireless network, make sure you select the computer the printer is connected to/ ENVY 7640 as default. It is a piece of cake. It has a troubleshooter built into the software.
