Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later."I have an HP 5745 and every time I reboot the computer, I have to reconnect the printer to WiFi. Is it possible to have this printer hard wired (Ethernet) to the computer and still have it connected to WiFi so I can print from my phone?" _ I am also a owner of this printer. The printer you connect WiFi from its touch screen from there it will always be connected to your router (the second bottom right icon from main screen). You shouldn't have to connect WiFi through your computer to the device at all. Your computer connected to WiFi the same WiFi connection as the printer, would automatically make that connection as long as your computer sees the printer. As you connect your devices to it like phone or tablet the printer touch screen will eventually put up a password to connect to it might take it two or three tries. If you do it by Ethernet, then you will have to run that same Ethernet to the computer as well through the same router. The printer is WiFi enabled but doesn't make it automatically a router. It wont register a signal from WiFi when its looking for LAN. I hope I clarified it well enough.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to my research of several different brands of both ink jet and laser printers, most -- if not all -- printers are unable to accommodate or support both wired and wireless connections at the same time. It has to be one or the other. There may be a few -- a very few -- which can . . . my memory fails me on this point 'cause it's not a need I have. Click on "Specifications" for more details. There may be something there that gives you a clue. Or go the HP site. You can "computer speak" to an employee right away who can give you this information.
