• I would not think so. If your video card is needing the higher power then by all means you should put in a higher watt supply. I did myself. It is quite easy to do. I bought the Corsair 750 watt for only $ 60.00 I think is well worth it.

• The HP website lists the nVidia 970 as an option but there is no indication that the power supply is the same. Personally, i'd go for it as the only risk is that you will need to upgrade the power supply.

• Not sure if the motherboard will accept a video card, or not. I would surely upgrade the power supply.
