Bought it for my wife for Christmas for her photo studio and she loves it! She hooked up to a 48in tv using an hdmi cable. Within an hour the computer was up and running. Works great for photography and everyday use.

This computer replaced a previous HP that had a better processor and smaller case but failed within a week. We have had this computer for over a month now and it has performed as expected. It is a bit pricey but does the job, we were needing something to create and produce video shows to be burned to DVD's and the computer has performed as expected.

I needed to upgrade my 8 year older Compaq used for home business as it was getting slow. This HP has much more memory, processor speed and storage and can have dual monitors which is great for my purposes since having so many windows open at the same time was awkward at times. The only issue I had was calling HP for tech support as I got the feeling I was talking to someone in another country that was not able to solve my issue but the geek squad was able to resolve the problem very quickly for me.

We are both academics and need dependable computers at home for work. For a couple of decades now, every four or five years I would find some computer science major who was good with hardware, and have a custom computer made. My helpful I.T. expert at work said he used to do that too but that the way the business works now it's not necessary. He has to maintain hundreds of desktop computers (grandpa boxes) and his experience has been that in terms of working out of the box, HP is more dependable than the other computers Best Buy sells so I selected this one for my wife's office. It was a Christmas gift so I wanted it to work Christmas morning with minimal fuss so I could concentrate on preparing dinner and that was indeed the case. It came packaged so well the damage inflicted by UPS didn't cause a scratch, the case is attractive and it stays cool in operation even though it's very fast. Plenty of memory, storage as is, no need for expansion, ports are very clearly marked, it picked up the router signal right away so she was hooked up and searching the Internet within an hour of unwrapping. This Best Buy package comes with a keyboard and wireless mouse. All in all I'm pretty pleased.

Windows 10 takes a bit of time getting use to. Microsoft OneDrive is very confusing and I don't need it, but can't get rid of it. The vertical Optical DVD drive seems a big clugey, but then I don't really use it much. Overall a nice PC and good operating system at reasonable price!

Good middle-of-road computer

This seems to be a good middle of the road computer. We bought this for a small business and are very happy with its performance but I will make the disclaimer that I added a new SSD and moved the OS to it pretty much before we even used the computer. I also bumped the RAM up to 16 GB. So far we have been very happy with the purchase. It boots in hardly any time at all and loads business applications (Quickbooks, MS Office, etc) without any lag. This computer also acts as a quasi-server as we remote into the computer from home quite often and it seems to perform well here too. We are not using it for gaming or anything graphics-intensive, so my review is not based on that. I have owned some HPs personally in the past that have been next to worthless, but this computer seems to do very well for what we need it to do, and was the right price.

Computer is quick and stable (it doesn't crash) and I got it at a great price. I like how Cyber PowerMedia was already installed though I haven't used it much yet. Windows 10 on the other hand is still a work in progress. Simple tasks like opening printer connections or control panel will be unresponsive though the entire computer doesn't freeze as you can do other tasks. Just frustrating to have simple tasks take several minutes to respond. Had trouble syncing computer wirelessly to HP printer (go figure) but I think it was windows 10 related. Windows 10 also has trouble waking up the screen, you have to turn the screen on/off. For other Win10 problems, I found it best to just reset the computer.

This HP Envy desktop PC is a pleasure to use for all my needs for a home PC. It starts up very fast, it is quiet when running, and is quick on the web with my Comcast connection. I did have a minor hiccup when I first purchased this PC. My first one did not want to connect to WiFi signal no matter how much I tried. I took PC tower back into Best Buy Geek Squad after 2 days of trying to connect. They plugged it in and found immediately found that the hard drive was defective straight from the box. I decided to swap it out for exact same PC and I am glad I did. I have been using this HP Envy for the past 4 months with no issues or problems. I am very pleased with it, so much pleased that I purchased the same model for my wife for her home office. We are both pleased with the speed and ease of use. We both have Windows 10 on the PC and we both use Firefox and Microsoft Edge for browsers. I use them both on the same PC. Geek Squad and HP Customer Service is very helpful with any and all questions. I recommend purchasing Geek Squad protection plan to take advantage of their full support. I do not see why anyone would be disappointed with this purchase. Take note that a VGA or VDI connection to a monitor is not available with this PC. It uses HDMI connection. You need to make sure your monitor has HDMI connection. Also I would like to say that we both have no issues with the wireless mouse and wireless keyboard that came with this PC. They are both very responsive, always.

The first one I took home froze repeatedly. The second one was totally different, with no freeze ups. For the money, under $550, it has a 6th generation i5, 12gb ram, and a 2 tb hd. Performance is extremely good, though I think Windows 10 is a little buggy. Every once-in-awhile, I get a pop up that the video driver was lost and automatically recovered. Lots of preloaded apps that are nothing more than links to commercial sites. Not sure if that is part of Windows 10, or added on by HP.

I had a bit of a tough time getting my new HP Envy operating properly, but a little research online and on the HP website helped me get it going. After a few hours use any task that required a couple of quick clicks would cause the computer to freeze or lockup, requiring a hard reset to turn it back on. After trying everything offered online as a resolution, I finally turned off the "sleep" mode under the power settings and let just the monitor go to sleep. I also shut down the entire computer every night since it only takes about 30 seconds or less to boot up in the mornings. Problem solved. The i5 processor is a lot faster than I expected, and the addition of another 8 Gb stick of memory to replace the 4 Gb that came in it gave me a solid 16 Gb of memory and increased speed as well. I am totally satisfied with this desktop, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good solid upgrade!

I purchased this computer because my old HP Pavilion was so old that I was unable to run dual monitors. Rather than upgrading multiple internal components, I opted to just buy a new tower. The computer itself is great. Super fast, super quiet, etc. However, I'm not a fan of Windows 10. It's use of apps reminds me more of my iPhone than a desktop computer. Additionally, when did computers stop coming loaded with anti-virus/security and Microsoft Office? All that was loaded on this computer were 30 day test version.

This is perfect for my needs. I was looking for a computer after my old one bit the dust. I'm no computer genius so this worked out very well for me. Easy to use, plenty of memory for me. My son has been using it for gaming while his computer is down and has had no trouble at all with his gaming.

would have liked if it had dvi or vga monitor ports but adapters work well; getting use to W10 but so far functionality is good; speed is awesome given the 12gb memory and storage certainly is not an issue.

Lots of bang for the buck with 12gb RAM and 2tb hard drive with an i5 processor. Had some issues with the 1st machine but BB made an exchange with no questions asked. The 2nd one came home with blazing speed, running Windows 10 as smooth as silk. Especially for a guy coming straight from the Widows XP era. Although it has slow down a bit as I load it with more and more apps/programs. One little complaint: why doesn't come with a serial port? I had to get BB to switch me a HDMI cable for a serial cable because there is no serial port.
But anyway, I enjoy it very much for the first month of usuage. Hope it last me a few years.
