There are several ways to go about doing this. You can get an external casing for the drive and connect it to the computer and do a transfer that way. Depending on the unit if it has multiple bays, you can install the drive and another bay and then do the transfer when it is connected to the computer. If it is stored on a network, that is another option as well. If you are having issues, you can contact either HP Support or look into Geek Squad services for help. Geek Squad can do data transfers as well.
