You do not need a DVD or CD drive to download music. As this computer comes from the factory you can download and listen to music and movies which can either be stored on the internal SSD or an external device of your choice. If you want to "burn" music or movie CD's/DVD's you would need to purchase an external device that will easily attach to one of the many available USB slots on this system. NOTE: Since most people stream music today very few, if any, computers come with CD or DVD burners.
