Thank you for your question. Both M.2 slots come pre-occupied. One of them contains the wireless card, while the other contains the SSD. The slot with the wireless card cannot take an SSD, so you would need an M.2 to either PCIe, SATA, or USB adapter to use a second M.2 SSD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Very disappointing from HP to continue advertising the wifi M2 as an expansion slot. How many people will buy an M2 SSD only to open that case and find there is no M2 Slot. I bought a 1 TB Samsung 990 Pro For my ENVY I-7 14th Gen Desktop only to open the case to find I wasted over $100. This all started because I could not find the configuration I wanted even when using the HP options. Years ago, when I bought an HP I-7 I was basically able to build in just about every spec - probably 20 hardware and software options to select. Not any more. I am now adding a Graphics card (which I would have liked to spec) and which now will probably eliminate the option to use a any M2 Expansion card. Any PC builder should recognize that M2 storage is very popular now. Its been four years since the question was raised. Either add a real "expansion" M2 or at least make clear that there are no unoccupied M2 Slots. PLEASE in your ads and promotions explain that both M2 Slots are occupied. A very reasonable, customer centered service. Very Disappointing.
