I turned 68 in July. Partition it. If was my computer, If you don't know how to partition a hard drive, check Youtube. I would partition it as follows: 1- C:\As the main drive for all my programs, nothing else. This will be what is left after you are done with the partitioning. 2-D:\Data This is where I keep my data files 500GB 3-E:\Music This is where I keep all my mp3 and other music files 500GB 4-F:\Video This is where I keep all my mp4 and other video clips 500 GB The leftover which is going to be 500GB is the C drive. In my work, it is more than enough for my programs and software and more. Under NO, I repeat no circumstances, I will depend only that. I MUST have an external drive for backup of the above. I would backup every few weeks. Others do it weekly, many do it overnight daily. I have two backup, i.e. backup of the backup. I have suffered losing data, therefore it is better to be safe then to be sorry. I hope this helps.
