For the money, the fx cpu is so much better than intel offerings in its price range. The FX can keep up with an i7, and blows away an i3. It's probably between an i5 and i7 in some areas. Since its a quad core you've got more power when you need it too. And the frame is entirely aluminum. It feels very study, very sleek. It reminds me of a macbook pro.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.AMD is a good company, they've been around almost as long as intel. recently they've fallen off the CPU market due to hot, mediocre performing chips, but the new one in this laptop is one of AMD's new line of chips, and its actually very competitive with intel. it is roughly the same performance of an i3 in single core, but faster than an i5 when all 4 cores are chugging along, and the built in graphics card outmatches an i7's card handily, all while costing significantly less to manufacture, meaning laptops running AMD chips are considerably cheaper for the same performance. and that's a good thing.
