It is not the easiest of tasks to replace the hard drive but it can be done, and as long as you do not damage anything it will not void the warranty.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its pretty easy to replace the HD with SSD. I have not done this on this laptop but I had done that on my current 4 year old HP Pavilion g7 laptop. If you are an average techy person, you can do it yourself. Be sure to buy the whole kit including the hardware and software for transferring the Old HDD content to the new SDD. I purchsed Samsung Evo 250 SSD kit and was able to swap the HDD with SDD under 2 hours. You just have to follow the instructions that come with the kit. My kit came with the hardware to connect the HDD and SDD, cloning sotware and instructional video. It was a breeze! And yes, I think replacing the original HDD with SDD will void the Hard disk warranty but will not void the other parts or software or O/S. But check with HP on this, as what I am saying is based on what I read on the internet.
