Without knowing the exact model number, it's impossible to say, because some of the X360 laptops have an RJ-45 port (so you could plug the cable in directly) and some don't (in which case, you'd need an adapter). You don't need an HDMI cable to get Internet. You could use either the Cat 5e or Cat 6. However, the price difference is usually pretty small, and the Cat 6 has 10 times the bandwidth, so I'd go with that as a matter of "future proofing".
